This is a classical point of view about love from a philosopher named Francis.Bacon
The stage is more beholding to love, than the life of man. For as to the stage, love is ever matter of comedies, and now and then of tragedies; but in life it doth much mischief; sometimes like a siren, sometimes like a fury.
You may observe, that amongst all the great and worthy persons (whereof the memory remaineth, either ancient or recent) there is not one, that hath been transported to the mad degree of love: which shows that great spirits, and great business, do keep out this weak passion. You must except, nevertheless, Marcus Antonius, the half partner of the empire of Rome, and Appius Claudius, the decemvir and lawgiver; whereof the ｆｒｏｍer was indeed a voluptuous man, and inordinate; but the latter was an austere and wise man: and therefore it seems (though rarely) that love can find entrance, not only into an open heart, but also into a heart well fortified, if watch be not well kept.
It is a poor saying of Epicurus, Satis magnum alter alteri theatrum sumus; as if man, made for the contemplation of heaven, and all noble objects, should do nothing but kneel before a little idol, and make himself a subject, though not of the mouth (as beasts are), yet of the eye; which was given him for higher purposes.
It is a strange thing, to note the excess of this passion, and how it braves the nature, and value of things, by this; that the speaking in a perpetual hyperbole, is comely in nothing but in love. Neither is it merely in the phrase; for whereas it hath been well said, that the arch-flatterer, with whom all the petty flatterers have intelligence, is a man’s self; certainly the lover is more. For there was never proud man thought so absurdly well of himself, as the lover doth of the person loved; and therefore it was well said, That it is impossible to love, and to be wise. Neither doth this weakness appear to others only, and not to the party loved; but to the loved most of all, except the love be reciproque. For it is a true rule, that love is ever rewarded, either with the reciproque, or with an inward and secret contempt.
By how much the more, men ought to beware of this passion, which loseth not only other things, but itself! As for the other losses, the poet’s relation doth well figure them: that he that preferred Helena, quitted the gifts of Juno and Pallas. For whosoever esteemeth too much of amorous affection, quitteth both riches and wisdom.
This passion hath his floods, in very times of weakness; which are great prosperity, and great adversity; though this latter hath been less observed: both which times kindle love, and make it more fervent, and therefore show it to be the child of folly. They do best, who if they cannot but admit love, yet make it keep quarters; and sever it wholly from their serious affairs, and actions, of life; for if it check once with business, it troubleth men’s fortunes, and maketh men, that they can no ways be true to their own ends.
I know not how, but martial men are given to love: I think, it is but as they are given to wine; for perils commonly ask to be paid in pleasures.
There is in man’s nature, a secret inclination and motion, towards love of others, which if it be not spent upon some one or a few, doth naturally spread itself towards many, and maketh men become humane and charitable; as it is seen sometime in friars.
Nuptial love maketh mankind; friendly love perfecteth it; but wanton love corrupteth, and embaseth it.

Chapter 1
Where does it come from?
This quest, this need to solve life’s mysteries when the simplest of questions can never be answered.
Why are we here?
What is the soul?
Why do we dream?
Perhaps we’d better of not looking at all.
Not delving, not yearning.
That’s not human nature.
Not the human heart.

Chapter 2
We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny capable of determining our own fate.
But have we truly any choice in when we rise? Or when we fall?
Or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction?
Is it evolution that takes us by hand?
Does science point our way?
Or is it god who intervenes, keeping us safe.
For all his bluster, it is the sad province of man that he cannot choose his triumph.
He can only choose how he will stand when the call of destiny comes.
Hoping that he’ll have the courage to answer.

Suddenly, the change in your life that should have been wonderful, comes as a betray.
It may seem cruel, but the goal is nothing short of self-preservation.
Survival.
This force, evolution, is not sentimental.
Like the earth itself, it know only the hard facts of life’s struggle with death.

Love, conflict, oppression, betrayal… and risking everything to fight for your beliefs. Braveheart has it all.Man,should be with responsibility for his country,his belief,his people,his love.I enjoy the film with tears welling up,and always an idea appears in my mind about how a real person really should be.
Firstly,the background and plot of the great movie,from Google.
In 1280 A.D. Edward I of England, known as “Longshanks,” has occupied much of Scotland, and his oppressive rule there leads to the deaths of William Wallace’s father and brother. Years later and after Wallace has grown up with his uncle outside of Scotland, the Scots continue to live under the harsh thumb of Longshanks’ cruel laws. Wallace returns, intent on living as a farmer and avoiding involvement in the ongoing “Troubles.” Wallace rekindles a romance with his childhood friend Murron after showing her the carefully preserved thistle she gave him as a child, and the two marry in secret to avoid the prima nocte decree the King has set forth. After Wallace beats up a group of English soldiers attempting to rape Murron, the village Sheriff publicly cuts her throat before Wallace is able to save her. An enraged Wallace, with the assistance of his fellow townsmen, slaughters the English soldiers at the encampment, killing the sheriff in the same manner that Murron was killed. He then orders the burning of the local English fort, and unintentionally kindles a Scottish rebellion.
News of the rebellion spreads quickly, and hundreds of Scots from the surrounding clans volunteer to join Wallace’s militia. Wallace leads his army through a series of successful battles against the English, however, he is betrayed by the Scottish nobility and defeated at the Battle of Falkirk. He goes into hiding, fighting a guerrilla war against English forces and personally executes two Scottish nobles who betrayed him. Meanwhile, Princess Isabelle, whose husband Prince Edward (Longshanks’s son and heir) ignores her, meets with Wallace as the English King’s emissary. She and Wallace share a tryst, during which she conceives Wallace’s child. Still believing there is some good in the nobility of his country, Wallace eventually agrees to meet with the Bruce. He is caught in a trap set by the elder Bruce and the other nobles, beaten unconscious, and handed over to the English Crown. Robert the Bruce is enraged by his father’s treachery, and disowns him forever.
In London, Wallace is brought before the English magistrates and tried for high treason. He denies the charges, reasoning that he had never accepted Edward as his King. The court responds by sentencing him to be “purified by pain.” Later, in a London square, William Wallace is brutally tortured to death, being alternately hanged, racked, castrated, and finally disembowelled alive. He signals to the magistrate that he wishes to speak. Using the last ounce of strength in his tortured body, he cries out, “FREEDOM!”. He turns his head and sees Murron in the crowd smiling at him, and smiles lovingly back at her as he is finally beheaded.
Some time later, Robert the Bruce takes control of the remaining Scottish army and faces a ceremonial line of English troops at the fields of Bannockburn. Cheering Wallace’s name, Robert Bruce and the Scots charge the stunned English lines and win their freedom.
This is an emotional, involving and ultimately draining film. By the time you are done, you are spent.What makes this movie so intense is the passion of the main character: Scottish rebel leader William Wallace, played by Mel Gibson, who put his heart and soul into this performance. Add to that a powerful story, great cinematography, excellent action scenes and even some humor….and you have a classic film.
Patrick McGoohan shines as the evil English king and Sophie Marceau, Agnus McFadyen and Catherine McCormack all contribute. I’m sorry the latter had such a short role as her beauty captivated me very much. All the characters in Wallace’s “army” are fun to watch, too.
For those a bit queasy with bloody violence, this is not a movie for you. There are lots of gory action scenes that includes limbs being hacked off. This is not a film for the feint of heart. The only objection I have to the violence is the ending. Seeing a man tortured is not my idea of entertainment. I now fast-forward through that part but otherwise thoroughly enjoy the rest of the three-hour film, an “epic” adventure, if there ever was one.
The most memorable scene in the film, for me, was not any of the action scenes but just the absolutely stunned look on Gibson’s face when he discovers his trusted ally was anything but that. To discover that the key people in the country that you are fighting for are not backing you must have been indescribably crushing to, although since this is the movies I don’t know how accurate this was to the real story. Whatever the accuracy, it’s a great film and belongs in anyone’s collection of epic-adventure masterpieces.
For he had only one life to give for Scotland,it is reason why the film is so touching.
Word “freedom” really means more than I ever think of it.
Finally,the famous actor’s lines are listed as follows.

My name is David Beckham and this is my story.
I still look back to ‘98,

These day is passing in the stream of video and entertainment,tender air fill dorm up,on account of stress broken down.Jack.Bauer,the man with spirit and responsibility for the whole world more than himself and his own family.
